Below is a collection of recent stories.<!--more--><\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-left: 20px\">\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 15px\"><strong>Ernesto Mendez<\/strong> is mentioned in a <a href=\"https:\/\/vtdigger.org\/2022\/04\/01\/college-professors-adapt-to-a-world-where-international-research-is-difficult-to-do\/\">VTDigger.org article<\/a> about how COVID travel restrictions impacted international travel for research.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 15px\">ASCI major <strong>Katerina Brumer<\/strong> authored a commentary in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.benningtonbanner.com\/opinion\/brumer-we-should-be-protecting-predator-species\/article_6c995684-ab85-11ec-aa4d-e7c5a4170d00.html\">Bennington Banner<\/a> about the wildlife and human benefits of protecting bobcats and coyotes, apex predators in Vermont.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 15px\"><strong>Mark Isselhardt<\/strong> was interviewed for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcax.com\/2022\/04\/05\/maple-market-remains-strong\/\">WCAX article<\/a> on how Vermont&#8217;s maple industry remains strong and growing.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 15px\">Although Vermont&#8217;s maple industry is strong, staffing shortages are creating a &#8220;sticky situation&#8221; for maple producers. <strong>Mark Isselhardt<\/strong> was interviewed for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcax.com\/2022\/04\/09\/staffing-shortages-create-sticky-situation-maple-producers\/\">WCAX<\/a> about this issue for producers.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 15px\">In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sierraclub.org\/sierra\/how-maple-syrup-producers-are-protecting-their-product-climate\">Sierra Club Magazine<\/a> article on how maple producers are adapting to climate change, <strong>Mark Isselhardt<\/strong> comments on how climate is impacting maple producers.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 15px\">A news brief in the <a href=\"https:\/\/mountaintimes.info\/pawlet-library-launches-seed-lending-library\/\">Mountain Times<\/a> covers the Town of Pawlet Library&#8217;s new seed library, and <strong>CALS and Extension faculty and staff<\/strong> assisted with setting it up.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 15px\">In an article from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.farmprogress.com\/dairy\/vermont-farm-goes-big-dairy-goats\">Farm Progress<\/a> entitled, &#8220;Vermont farm goes big on dairy goats,&#8221; Vermont Creamery mentioned that they are planning on USDA grants to help pay for research by the <strong>University of Vermont<\/strong> that will improve the state&#8217;s dairy goat industry.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-bottom: 15px\"><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\"><strong>Margaret Skinner<\/strong> was interviewed for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.burlingtonfreepress.com\/story\/news\/2022\/04\/13\/protect-your-trees-spongy-moth-caterpillars-vermont\/7286881001\/\">Burlington Free Press<\/a> article about the destructive spongy moth (formerly known as gypsy moth).
