Haas Distinguished Service Award from the North American Maple Syrup Council (NAMSC), in recognition of 75 years of demonstration and outreach in support of the North American maple industry. The award was announced in October, 2022, at the NAMSC annual conference held in La Crosse, Wisconsin.<!--more--><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2282\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2282\" style=\"width: 633px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2282 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/site.uvm.edu\/cals-news\/files\/2022\/11\/PMRC-award2.jpg?resize=525%2C367\" alt=\"Abby van den Berg, Tim Perkins and Mark Isselhardt accepting a plaque for a maple award.\" width=\"525\" height=\"367\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2282\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Abby van den Berg, Tim Perkins and Mark Isselhardt accepting the Richard G. Haas Distinguished Service Award from the North American Maple Syrup Council.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>PMRC was also awarded the Lynn Reynolds Memorial Leadership Award from the International Maple Syrup Institute, for advancement of maple research beneficial to the international maple syrup industry.<\/p>\n<p>PMRC Director and Research Professor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/cals\/plantbiology\/profiles\/timothy-d-perkins\">Tim Perkins<\/a> was awarded Life Membership in NAMSC. Typically, researchers and Extension educators are elected to associate membership (non-voting, advisory capacity primarily) for three year terms (which can be renewed).
