On March 18, 2023, the Vermont Sheep and Goat Association (VSGA) held their spring lambing clinic at Shelburne Farms.<\/p>\n

Master Shepherd (and retired UVM small ruminant specialist) Chet Parsons reviewed the basics of ewe nutrition, early signs of labor, when to intervene in a difficult labor, dystocia, handy equipment to have on hand, clip, dip, and strip.<\/p>\n

While lambing 75 ewes, VSGA President Dave Martin and Shelburne Farms Herdsman Renee LaCoss demonstrated and discussed dystocia, tail docking, castrating, tube feeding, hoof trimming, grafting and inverted eyelid.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
