She was interviewed for a <a href=\"https:\/\/vtdigger.org\/2023\/07\/15\/vermonts-dairy-industry-saved-majority-of-milk-supply-during-catastrophic-storm\/\">VTDigger<\/a> article about this work.<\/p>\n<p>An article in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sevendaysvt.com\/vermont\/volunteers-rush-to-harvest-veggies-in-the-intervale-as-the-winooski-river-rises\/Content?oid=38634666\">Seven Days<\/a> mentioned the Agroecology and Extension (AX) Fellowship Team that mobilized their people power in support of Intervale farmers, especially the Intervale Community Farm and Diggers&#8217; Mirth Farm Collective.<\/p>\n<p>Vegetable farms have it the worst in a flood, losing their harvest for a year, stated UVM Extension&#8217;s Joshua Faulkner, in an article from <a href=\"https:\/\/heatmap.news\/economy\/vermont-floods-farms-agriculture\">Heatmap<\/a> about &#8220;biblical&#8221; floods coming for America&#8217;s farms.<\/p>\n<p>Extension&#8217;s Vern Grubinger was interviewed for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salon.com\/2023\/07\/11\/learn-about-the-fight-for-values-based-purchasing--and-recommendations-from-a-new-report_partner\/\">Salon<\/a> article on value-based food purchasing.<\/p>\n<p>Extension Associate Professor Kris Stepanuck was quoted for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcax.com\/2023\/07\/25\/burlington-dpw-crews-stem-2-week-sewage-leak\/\">WCAX<\/a> story about the Burlington sewage leak after the July floods.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesargus.com\/211\/flood-recovery-resources\/article_a71740ef-5260-5e07-af5f-1d783fd7b797.html\">Times Argus<\/a> listed UVM Extension&#8217;s soil testing for flood-impacted soils in Vermont.<\/p>\n<p>The Gardens at Jeffords Hall were noted in the nationally-distributed <a href=\"https:\/\/share.america.gov\/planting-help-pollinators-becomes-popular-u-s\/\">ShareAmerica<\/a> article titled, Planting to help pollinators becomes popular in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>UVM is recognized as a &#8220;Bee Campus USA&#8221; by the <a href=\"https:\/\/beecityusa.org\/\">Xerces Society<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Extension&#8217;s Vern Grubinger discussed this year&#8217;s blueberry crop for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcax.com\/2023\/07\/21\/blueberry-crop-ripe-picking\/\">WCAX<\/a> story about blueberries being ripe for picking now.<\/p>\n<p>Emeritus Professor Paul Kindstedt was quoted in an article from <a href=\"https:\/\/culturecheesemag.com\/blog\/reflections-on-cheese-camp-2023\/\">The Word on Cheese Culture<\/a>, reflecting on the 2023 &#8220;Cheese Camp.&#8221; He warned that, a coalition of activist groups, special interest groups, and commercial enterprises are using social issues to move young people away from dairy products.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Emeritus Professor Paul S.
