Zirkle previously worked at UVM Human Resource Services, where she assisted faculty, staff and retirees with common questions, and supported the benefit operations team. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and two Boston terriers, reading, film, practicing yoga, and gardening.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Maire Folan, UVM Extension EFNEP Coordinator<\/h3>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-595 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/site.uvm.edu\/cals-news\/files\/2021\/11\/Maire-Folan.jpg?resize=200%2C203\" alt=\"Maire Folan\" width=\"200\" height=\"203\" \/>Maire Folan recently joined Extension&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/extension\/efnep\">Expanded Food &amp; Nutrition Education Program<\/a> (EFNEP) team as their new statewide coordinator. For those wondering, her name is Gaelic and pronounced Maura.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to joining Extension, Folan worked for Green Mountain Farm to School as a program director. She supervised five farm to school coordinators that provided hands-on food and agriculture programming to over 15 schools in the Northeast Kingdom. She also worked with the NEK Council on Aging, where she served as a consulting dietitian providing menu oversight for congregate meals, and one-on-one nutrition counseling to seniors. Folan is an active outdoor enthusiast and lives in the beautiful Northeast Kingdom with her partner and his two children. She holds an M.S. in Sustainable Food Systems from Green Mountain College, and a B.S. in Biology and Nutrition from the University of New Hampshire. She is a registered dietitian nutritionist.<\/p>\n<h3>Margaret Tabb, Consumer Assistance Program Support Generalist<\/h3>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-626 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/site.uvm.edu\/cals-news\/files\/2021\/11\/margaret-taub.jpg?resize=200%2C199\" alt=\"Margaret Tabb\" width=\"200\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/site.uvm.edu\/cals-news\/files\/2021\/11\/margaret-taub.jpg?w=200&amp;ssl=1 200w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/site.uvm.edu\/cals-news\/files\/2021\/11\/margaret-taub.jpg?resize=100%2C100&amp;ssl=1 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>Margaret Tabb joined the Consumer Assistance Program (CAP) at the beginning of August 2021. CAP is a partnership between the University of Vermont CDAE\/CALS and the Vermont Attorney Generals Office. She is on the front lines of interfacing with and assisting constituent communication at CAP. The position also plays a critical role in training and mentoring the student consumer advisors every semester. Tabb&#8217;s role also includes <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.uvm.edu\/cap\/\">Scam with Loss mediation<\/a>, facilitating and implementing community outreach events, phone calls, complaint mediation, updates, and referrals.<\/p>\n<p>Tabb, who grew up in Chicago, is a 2020 graduate of UVM. She graduated with a B.S in Public Communication and minored in Community and International Development. Tabb stated about her new job that, &#8220;the most rewarding aspect of CAP has to be speaking to Vermonters and building trust with their local government. CAP deals with a variety of issues, and whether our office is the best to handle them or not, we make sure that Vermont constituents feel they are being heard.
