Vermont Community Schools

Cohort 1

Community Schools Cohort One was funded through the passing of Vermont Act 67 – The Community Schools Act in 2021. This act allocated federal ARP ESSER (COVID-19 relief funds) for the implementation and evaluation of the Community Schools approach in rural-designated schools and districts.

The following schools/supervisory unions are the original recipients of Act 67 funding and comprise Cohort 1 of the Vermont Community Schools network:

Cohort 2

Starting in 2025, Community Schools Cohort Two was funded through a one-year appropriation from the Vermont State Legislature to support the establishment of the Community Schools approach within schools and communities across the state. Community Schools Cohort Two will be further supported through continued grant funding awarded through a Congressional Direct Spending Request with support from the Office of Senator Bernie Sanders.

The following schools/districts/supervisory unions are the recipients of the most recent Community Schools funding and demonstrate the growing ecosystem of Community Schools across the State of Vermont:
