By combining <strong>computational<\/strong> simulations with <strong>theoretical<\/strong> approaches rooted in statistical mechanics and soft matter physics, we aim to uncover how movement and interactions at the level of individual agents give rise to large-scale patterns and properties. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These studies are applicable to biological systems ranging from bacterial colonies, tissues, and tumors to animal groups, and human crowds, as well as artificial active systems such as self-propelled colloids and vibrated granular systems.
