He received his MD and<br>underwent his training as an internist at King\u2019s College, London. He<br>received a PhD from the Medical University of South Carolina and served<br>on the faculty prior to relocating to the Rockefeller University in New<br>York. There he served as the Director of the General Clinical Research<br>Center and the Rockefeller University Hospital.
