{"id":15,"date":"2024-03-21T15:17:33","date_gmt":"2024-03-21T15:17:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/site.uvm.edu\/kozen\/?page_id=15"},"modified":"2024-11-01T04:00:47","modified_gmt":"2024-11-01T04:00:47","slug":"equipment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/site.uvm.edu\/kozen\/?page_id=15","title":{"rendered":"Research Equipment"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Kozen research group at UVM is housed in Discovery W121, a 641 square foot facility on the first floor of Discovery hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Veeco Savannah S-200 Atomic Layer Deposition System: This thermal ALD system with operation up to 350C contains 6 ALD precursor delivery lines, two low-vapor pressure delivery systems, ozone generator, and integration into an Ar-filled glovebox.  The Savannah can accommodate 8 circular substrates up to 5 mm high and can produce ALD films up to 100 nm thick with &lt; 2% non uniformity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1920\" src=\"http:\/\/site.uvm.edu\/kozen\/files\/2024\/11\/IMG_4082-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-112\" srcset=\"https:\/\/site.uvm.edu\/kozen\/files\/2024\/11\/IMG_4082-scaled.jpg 2560w, https:\/\/site.uvm.edu\/kozen\/files\/2024\/11\/IMG_4082-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/site.uvm.edu\/kozen\/files\/2024\/11\/IMG_4082-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/site.uvm.edu\/kozen\/files\/2024\/11\/IMG_4082-2048x1536.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/site.uvm.edu\/kozen\/files\/2024\/11\/IMG_4082-1568x1176.jpg 1568w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>BioLogic VSP-300 Potentiostat (glovebox-integrated): this instrument provides two-channel high-impedance referencing for solid-state electrochemical measurements up to 7 MHz with 10 pA sensitivity.  It is connected to a 3&#8243; wafer probe station inside an Ar-filled glovebox, but can be relocated for in-situ electrochemical measurements if necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ultra-High Vacuum Surface Science Chamber: this vacuum chamber system will provide UHV sample cleaning, modification, and surface analysis using Ar+ sputtering, thermal annealing, and Auger spectroscopy.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The Kozen Group also has shared equipment available in the Physics teaching &amp; instrumentation facility and class 100 cleanroom:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>J.A. Woollam M-2000D Spectroscopic Ellipsometer with microspots and automated mapping base for large-area analysis.  Dektek profilimeter.  Hitachi SEM.
