AMBER is a small but mighty group of researchers based at the University of Vermont. Our group consists of wildlife biologists and computer scientists eager to help our partners efficiently monitor wildlife populations to understand ecological trends. The AMBER workflow was developed under the direction of Therese Donovan of the Vermont Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit, part of the U.S. Geological Survey’s Cooperative Research Units program (Department of Interior). AMBER is a web-served extension of the R packages, monitoR, AMMonitor, and AMSDM, originating from the work of several post-docs, graduate students, and consultants at the Vermont Coop Unit.
AMBER now operates as a sub-unit of the Spatial Analysis Lab in the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources. Larry Clarfeld is at the helm, with Kayley Dillon and Kaitlin Huber as co-developers. AMBER operates as an income-expense unit, meaning that we obtain our funding through contracts, grants, or agreements. Contact us to learn about our services.
