The annual Schlesinger Global Family Enterprise Case Competition (SG-FECC) prepares participants to understand the critical issues that are unique to family enterprise by applying the knowledge and expertise they have developed in the classroom towards solving complex family business cases. During four tough rounds of competition, teams present their case to a distinguished panel of judges who will determine which group best understood, analyzed and presented the case.

Held in Burlington, Vermont, participants will have the opportunity to discover one of the America’s Best Downtowns and a Top 10 City for Outdoor Recreation. Situated within an easy drive of Montreal, Boston, and New York City, Burlington offers many convenient opportunities for arriving, exploring and departing. SG-FECC will also feature many events other than the competition itself, allowing students and coaches the chance to interact with industry professionals and sponsoring organizations during select program meals, social events and local trips. ††

“It was a great experience in Vermont, and the organization was just superb. Easily one of the most professional events I’ve been to among the 200+ events I have attended in the academic arena.”

Mattias Nordqvist, Coach, Jönköping International Business School, SWEDEN

SG-FECC combines what are two of the most important factors contributing to family business sustainability: A motivated next generation and an innovative approach to education. We have greatly enjoyed watching this event grow year by year and become the global success it deserves to be.”

Ramia M. El Agamy, Editor-in-Chief, Tharawat Magazine, UAE and SWITZERLAND

“Truly a stellar effort that has received well-deserved accolades across the board. I have been honored to participate in the last two events, would welcome an invitation to return, and am highly confident that continued success will follow. What a terrific opportunity for students and judges to equally benefit from what is undeniably an excellent learning experience!”
