Who We Are
The Agilent Laboratory for Chemical Analysis (ALCA) is a shared analytical instrumentation facility at the University of Vermont established through a strategic partnership between UVM and Agilent Technologies. ALCA was created to provide researchers, students, institutional collaborators, and external partners access to advanced analytical instrumentation and scientific expertise for chemical analysis and molecular characterization.
ALCA serves as both a research support facility and an educational hub, helping investigators solve analytical challenges through instrumentation access, staff-assisted analysis, method development, and collaborative scientific support.
Our Mission
ALCA’s mission is to expand access to modern analytical instrumentation while supporting scientific discovery, technical training, and collaborative problem-solving across academic, industrial, and applied research communities
