Learning happens everywhere.

Welcome to your home base for the UVM College of Arts & Sciences’ experiential, pre-professional, and hands-on experiences. Check out the information below and be in touch with the Office of Experiential Learning & Discovery team with any questions.

Internships

Research indicates that students who have internships are more likely to find jobs, have a better understanding of the world of work, receive more job offers, and be paid more over the course of their careers. Where will you intern?

Community-Engaged Learning

Community-Engaged Learning programs (like Service and Civic Learning courses) are the best way to get out into the community whilst being fully supported by your faculty. These are also excellent precursors to independent internships, travel, or research.

Travel Experiences

Whether you choose to spend a semester in a U.S. city doing a full-time internship or spend a week this summer exploring Rome, Italy, CAS has a travel program for you!

Online Programs

Eager to get some experience but can’t swing an in-person program? Check out CAS’s new Global Career Accelerator program — available to all majors and focused on cross-developing your skills in marketing, data analytics, and web development. Or, find an online, micro-internship to earn some cash!

Full-Time Experiences

Looking to devote an entire semester to an in-depth professional experience? Check out CAS’s Semester for Impact and work full-time for a local organization while earning 15 credits.

Research Opportunities

Fellowships, Opportunities, & Undergraduate Research (FOUR) offers an array of valuable resources for all UVM students, helping to shape their intellectual development through undergraduate research and scholarly engagement, and by exploring and pursuing competitive fellowships.
