We had our second advisory committee meeting on November 27th, 2023. The team introduced new members of the advisory committee, Claire Polfus, Nick Bennette, Bob Heiser, and Rich Holschuh. Topics of discussion included whether to use the towns or town forests as the unit of analysis, acknowledging that some towns have multiple town forests; whether and how to ask towns about their forest management plans; how to format questions based on collecting information about primary forest uses and challenges; questions about the roles of indigenous communities in town forests; and ecological concerns. Our next full advisory committee meeting will be in Spring 2024.
