The Field of Psychological Science

Psychological Science is the scientific study of the mind and behavior. While there are many different subtypes (including Abnormal, Biological, Social, and Developmental), studying Psychological Science at the undergraduate level requires the ability to understand research articles and write scientifically. Writing assignments span from informal essays to full research papers, but should almost always be empirically (scientifically) based and objective. Since writing in Psychological Science can be a very complex process, this guide provides an overview of the most common types of writing expected at UVM, as well as some helpful resources.
