Writing for Theatre

There aren’t many formal writing assignments in theatre classes. That being said, writing in Theatre is a lot like writing about literature for your English classes: it’s largely based on analysis of words. Unlike writing for English, though, Theatre has the added aspect of the performance (either real or hypothetical). In a paper for a theatre class, you will often be focused on aspects of a performance you’ve seen, or the “performability” of the words on the page of a script.
