University of Vermont Extension is hosting two free webinars of interest to agritourism operators during October, 2023.

Legislation to Support Agritourism in the United States will be held via Zoom on October 4, starting at 1:00 p.m. U.S. Congressional Representative Jennifer Wexton from Virginia and other legislative leaders will present information about the purpose and intent of the bipartisan Agritourism Act, designed to create an Office of Agritourism in the U.S. Department of Agriculture. There are chronic, emerging challenges, each with its own set of cascading impacts involving water issues across the globe, especially for developing nations. Flooding in both highland and lowland areas tends to have devastating impacts on food production, housing, clean drinking water supplies and infrastructure. These impacts are more pronounced across Asia and Africa due to poor infrastructure development and response strategies. Catamount Life Skills Program for Students Launched

Urban and Community Forestry Program Plants Pride Tree

On June 1, 2023, the LGBTQIA2S+ Allies of Windsor in partnership with the Vermont Urban and Community Forestry Program and the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation, dedicated a flowering cherry tree planted at the Old Constitution House State Historic Site as a LGBTQ+ Pride Tree. The project celebrated eight months of planning among the partners and aligns with the State of Vermont’s commitment to building on local, state, and national efforts to advance equity and social justice for all people.
