Andrew Magnuson, Postdoctoral Associate, Animal and Veterinary Sciences

Andrew MagnusonMagnuson received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Cornell University, with a distinction in research focusing on laying hen nutrition. This was followed by a Master of Science in Poultry Nutrition from the University of Arkansas, where he determined novel plasma biomarkers for phosphorus metabolism which translate across breeders to their broiler progeny. A publication redefining regenerative agriculture through an anti-colonial lens has been published in Agriculture and Human Values, authored by Bryony Sands, Mario Machado and Rachelle Gould (UVM CALS and RSENR), Alissa White (American Farmland Trust), and Egle Zent (Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research). Agroecology Blooms in VT: The UVM Institute for Agroecology

The roots of agroecology at the University of Vermont (UVM) were set over a decade ago. Since then, agroecology has grown and flourished. With todays launch of a new Institute, agroecology has come into full bloom at UVM, marking a new cycle of research, learning and action aimed at creating more just and sustainable food systems.
