2024 Extension Master Gardener Course Registration is Open

Registration is now open for the 2024 UVM Extension Master Gardener course, a comprehensive gardening course that covers:

  • Basic botany.
  • Vegetable, fruit, and ornamental gardening.
  • Integrated pest management of insects and diseases.
  • Soil fertility.
  • Tree care.
  • Pollinator plants.
  • Sustainable landscaping and more.

Two tracks are available:

  • Track 1 – for those aiming to become certified UVM Extension Master Gardener Volunteers, with a 40-hour internship requirement.
  • Track 2 – for non-residents and Vermont gardeners interested in home horticulture study without certification.

This is an online course that opens on January 19, 2024 and runs through May 24. Track 1 students participate in live Zoom sessions on Thursdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. from Jan 25 to May 9.

The registration deadline is January 12, 2024, with a $400 registration fee for Vermonters and $550 for non-residents. Vermonters can apply for scholarships, VSAC, and AmeriCorps awards until December 15. To learn more and register, visit http://go.uvm.edu/mastergardener.
