New research on rural New Englanders shows that gardening, hunting, fishing and other HWFP activities are important tools for maintaining food security through extreme events, such as pandemics or climate change events. The paper was originally published in the journal Scientific Reports, and includes UVM CALS researchers Meredith T. Niles, Ashley C. McCarthy, Sam Bliss, Emily H. Belarmino, Scott C. Amy Miller, 4-H Assistant Director, UVM Extension
Amy Miller is the new assistant director of 4-H. She spent the past 13-plus years working at Vermont State University’s Castleton campus serving in a victim advocacy role and teaching adjunct courses in trauma studies, health promotion and women and gender studies.
