Alexander Chojolán, SCE Regional Coordinator, Extension Migrant Health & Education

Alexander Chojolan sitting next to a tree in a forest.Chojolán is originally from the highlands of Guatemala. He has been living in Vermont and working for UVM since 2016. The Green Mountains make him feel like home. He has been taking classes since 2018 and is working towards an anthropology degree.

He enjoys people and is curious why people do the things they do, and why they say the things they say. Chojolán is an explorer and is curious of all traditions and cultures. Recently he has been connecting with his Maya ancestors and the ancient ways.

He migrated to the U.S. with his family when he was five years old and understands migrant challenges, from education, culture, foreign language and more. Chojolán is excited to work with migrant families and to use his native Spanish tongue to be in service to others.

Ben Tutko, Research Specialist, Center for Sustainable Agriculture

Ben Tutko is sitting next to a stream in a forest.Tutko joins UVM Extension’s Center for Sustainable Agriculture as a research specialist, primarily conducting field work in Addison County.

He graduated from Virginia Tech with a Master of Science in Agricultural & Applied Economics.
