During the summer of 2023, UVM Animal and Veterinary Sciences Research Professor Julie Smith, along with two veterinary student interns, embarked on a project that took them to eight dairy farms across Vermont. Their goal was to help farmers prepare emergency biosecurity plans and maps, in order to respond to a possible foreign animal disease outbreak such as foot-and-mouth disease. Friends of the Horticulture Farm 2024 Programs Schedule

The Friends of the Horticulture Farm (FHF) is a nonprofit organization that aims to protect, enhance and promote the significant plant collections and natural areas of the University of Vermont Horticulture Research and Education Center (HREC).

Barituka Bekee, Post Doctoral Associate, Community Development and Applied Economics

Barituka BekeeBarituka Bekee joins UVM from the University of Missouri where he co-directed the Deaton Scholars Program, and obtained his PhD in agricultural and applied economics, as well as a certificate in society and sustainability.
