Morgan Horse Farm Hosts Equine Health & Training Clinics

The Morgan Horse Farm (MHF) team worked closely with the equine faculty in UVM’s Animal and Veterinary Science Department, to facilitate a robust schedule of learning opportunities at the farm in Weybridge, VT during the fall of 2022. The Equine Training Techniques course, Equine Health Practicum, Equine Clinical Topics course, and the Intro to Animal Science courses all utilized the Morgan herd and facility resources. 4-H Bonanza Showcases Student Passion for All Things Bovine

Seventy-two 4-H members from across Vermont participated in the 4-H Bovine Bonanza, held at the University of Vermont’s Paul R. Miller Research & Education Center on November 5, 2022. The instructors for the event were the Cooperative for Real Education in Agriculture Management (CREAM) students. With the farm hosting the event, it brings 4-H members to UVM and it gives the CREAM students a chance to showcase their passion and knowledge. New Funding from NOAA to Study Climate Change Resilience for Mobile Homes

UVM is part of a new regional collaboration to study the climate-related vulnerabilities of mobile home park communities. With funding announced this week from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA)s Climate Adaptation Partnerships program, the project brings together researchers from the Universities of Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine, as well as all three northern New England State Climatologists.
