2023 Farmer Training Graduates Persisted Through Rain-Soaked Season

In late October a graduation ceremony was held for the 2023 cohort of Farmer Training Program students. The students, ranging in age from 19 to 54, arrived in May from all over the country, including Vermont, Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, Missouri, New York, and Texas. Northwest Crops and Soils Team Reports on Winter Grain Field Trials

It is a busy time of year for grain growers here in the Northeast, including the farmers and researchers at Borderview Research Farm in Alburgh, Vermont. The University of Vermont Extension Northwest Crops and Soils team (NWCS) is conducting 10 winter grain field trials including studies focused on rye, wheat, spelt, and barley.
