Nutrition and Food Science Professor Paul Kindstedt (about to become emeritus professor) will give the opening keynote address at the 40th Annual Meeting of the American Cheese Society (ACS) in Des Moines Iowa on July 19.
As a PhD student and cheese science specialist at Cornell University, Kindstedt was invited to speak at the First Annual Meeting of the ACS in 1983, and soon served as the societys first vice president. Over the next four decades as a UVM professor, Kindstedt repeatedly served as an invited speaker at the ACS Annual Meeting, and was chosen to present the opening keynote address when the society celebrated it 25th anniversary in 2008.
Now, as his 37-year tour of duty as UVM professor comes to a close, Kindstedt will end on high note where he began, addressing the cheese makers and cheese mongers to whom he dedicated his professional career.
