Emily Belarmino, assistant professor in the Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences, was interviewed recently for WalletHub, a financial advising company. She participated in an expert panel asked for recommendations on economical ways to switch from a meat-based to vegan/vegetarian diet.

Centennial Celebration Honors Statue of Justin Morgan
One hundred years ago, a statue was placed on the Morgan Horse Farm in Weybridge to honor the first of this breed, a horse named Justin Morgan. The farm was originally commissioned by Colonel Joseph Battell in 1878 as the Weybridge Stock Farm, to preserve the Morgan breed and save it from extinction. In 1907 the farm became a cavalry “remount” station managed by the United States Department of Agriculture, and called the Government Morgan Farm. Meet the Inaugural PhD Cohort in Sustainable Development Policy, Economics and Governance
We recently welcomed the first cohort of students in UVM’s new doctoral program in Sustainable Development Policy, Economics and Governance. Hailing from seven different countries, the 10 doctoral students will spend the next several years gaining skills to address sustainable development challenges in local, state, national and global communities.
