UVM Students Compete in 21st Annual Dairy Challenge

Saratoga Springs, New York was the home base for the 2023 North American Intercollegiate Dairy Challenge (NAIDC). The competition was held from March 30 to April 1, with six area dairies participating in the educational event. Dairy students from 31 colleges worked to improve their dairy management and communication skills, networked with other students, and explored industry careers. Two CALS Students Receive Robert L. Parsons Award

Laura Eckman, a second-year PhD student in the Department of Plant and Soil Science’s Entomology Research Laboratory, and Sydney Miller, a senior undergraduate student studying agroecology, have been awarded funding from the Robert L. Parsons Fund for Professional Development in Production Agriculture. The Parsons award is offered in honor and remembrance of “Bob” Parsons, a dear colleague of many in the UVM College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS).
