UVM Alum in League at North Country Animal Shelter

North Country Animal League (NCAL) is a nonprofit, small animal rescue and equine center in Morrisville, VT. Their mission is to promote compassionate and responsible relationships between humans and animals. Animal and Veterinary Sciences Lecturer Chrissy Rohan works at NCAL part-time as a riding instructor.

There is a strong connection with UVM at NCAL. The following UVM alumni work there:

  • Shelter Operations Director Jamie Dutil, Class of 2009, Animal and Veterinary Sciences.
  • Equine Care Manager Sammi Bishop, Class of 2015, Animal and Veterinary Sciences.
  • Equine Care and Riding Instructor Olivia Pembroke, Class of 2020, Movement and Exercise Science, with four years in the UVM Horse Barn Coop and newly PATH Intl (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International) certified.
