The first venture in the newly established International Extension Program proved successful. The primary purpose of the initial project was to cultivate a relationship between UVM and Namık Kemal Üniversitesi (NKU) in Turkey, through agricultural outreach collaboration.
For a two-week period, from March 1 to 15, 2024, UVM Extension Research Specialist Lindsey Ruhl collaborated with NKU professor Dr. Tuna, to share Extension soil health research results in Turkey and Bulgaria to students, farmers, municipal staff, agricultural consultants, and researchers.
These efforts provide solid foundations to collaborate with NKÜ and Plovdiv Universities for future research and outreach. The International Extension program application process is being formalized. Stay tuned for more information!
