Many UVM faculty, staff, and students heeded the call for volunteers to help with emergency response and clean up from the devastating 2023 summer flooding in Vermont. A core team at UVM came together to work with the state’s joint information center that coordinated activities and volunteers to help fellow Vermonters in need.

A reception was held during late October at UVM to acknowledge the team’s time and contributions. CALS staff and faculty attending the event included Extension’s Wendy Hull and Wendy Sorrell, CDAE’s Kelly Hamshaw, and CALS Dean Leslie Parise.
