Kindstedt Honored with Wisconsin Cheese Makers Award

UVM Nutrition and Food Sciences Professor Paul Kindstedt has been honored with the 2022 Babcock Award by the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association. Named for Stephen Babcock, the famed agricultural chemist and University of Wisconsin professor, this award recognizes the contributions of those in education or affiliate organizations partnering with cheesemakers in the pursuit of dairy industry innovation and excellence.

The award announcement in the publication Wisconsin State Farmer stated that Kindstedt “has authored numerous research articles and invited papers for conferences on dairy chemistry and cheese science, as well as many book chapters. His research focuses on crystal formation in cheese, and their effect on cheese appearance and flavor.”

The award will be given out at CheeseExpo on April 14, 2022 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
