While there, he presented his research in talks at the Universidad Mayor de San Andres and the Universidad Publica de El Alto focusing on local Indigenous movements and the decolonization of Bolivian history.

Prior to UVM, Dangl worked as a journalist for nearly two decades covering politics, protest movements and human rights issues, and has published three books on Latin American politics, natural resource conflicts and grassroots strategies for social change.
