“This is literally the coolest thing I’ve ever heard.” That’s what a participant said at the January 27, 2022 VTeen Science Cafe hosted by UVM Extension 4-H, and taught by PSS Associate Professor Eric Bishop von Wettberg and PSS Post-Doctoral Associate Giovanna Sassi. They offered an online evening session called Culturing Cells for Healthier Soils, which provided participating teens with an introduction to the topic, and to the new AgroTek program overall. Lisa Flinn is an administrative assistant at the St. Johnsbury Extension office, and brings 20 years of experience in the administrative assistant field. Prior to joining Extension, Flinn held positions as an administrative assistant with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont for 20 years, Northern Power Systems for four years, Central Vermont Medical Center for five years and Littleton Regional Health Care for three years. Lake Champlain-Richelieu Flood Study Meetings to be Held
In 2016, as a result of catastrophic flooding along Lake Champlain and the Richelieu River during the spring of 2011, the governments of Canada and the United States instructed the International Joint Commission (IJC) to fully explore the causes, impacts, risks and solutions to flooding in the Lake Champlain-Richelieu River basin. Dangl Examines Indigenous Social Justice Struggles in Bolivia
The following articles published in “Oral History Review: Journal of the Oral History Association,” examine how Indigenous movements in Bolivia have used oral history as a tool for social justice struggles and decolonizing research methods in the Andes. This work draws from CDAE Lecturer Benjamin Dangl’s book The Five Hundred Year Rebellion: Indigenous Movements and the Decolonization of History in Bolivia, which recently won a Nautilus Book Award.
