Proctor Center, Director Recognized for Contributions to Maple Syrup Research

The UVM Proctor Maple Research Center (PMRC) was awarded the Richard G. Haas Distinguished Service Award from the North American Maple Syrup Council (NAMSC), in recognition of 75 years of demonstration and outreach in support of the North American maple industry. The award was announced in October, 2022, at the NAMSC annual conference held in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Morgan Horse Farm Hosts Equine Health & Training Clinics

The Morgan Horse Farm (MHF) team worked closely with the equine faculty in UVM’s Animal and Veterinary Science Department, to facilitate a robust schedule of learning opportunities at the farm in Weybridge, VT during the fall of 2022. The Equine Training Techniques course, Equine Health Practicum, Equine Clinical Topics course, and the Intro to Animal Science courses all utilized the Morgan herd and facility resources. Carolyn Claxton, Office/Program Support Generalist

In this role, she supports all members of the CDAE community. Prior to joining UVM, Claxton was employed by Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences for nearly 12 years, where she served as the coordinator for student affairs.
